The three-dimensional vector boundary value problem concerning two closely located metal pins in a rectangular waveguide is solved numerically in rigorous electromagnetic formulation. The problem is reduced to system of linear algebraic equations with respect to unknown amplitudes of electromagnetic waves by the method of partial waves. The multiport equivalent circuit is constructed, and its parameters are calculated. The resonance and transforming properties of the considered electromagnetic structure are investigated in the operating frequency band of the waveguide. It is shown that in the given structure, the resonance oscillations are excited that have different physical interpretation.
