The influence of the resonant magnetoelastic interaction of exchange magnetostatic waves (MSWs) with acoustic waves (AWs) on the spectrum of dipole MSWs in Iron-Yttrium-Garnet (IYG) films with an arbitrary degree of surface pinning are investigated experimentally. It is shown that, in a narrow range of the dipole MSW spectrum specified by the excitation frequency, the MSW spectrum undergoes a strong restructuring caused by a resonant coupling of the exchange phase-synchronized MSWs with AWs. This coupling of exchange MSWs with AWs is so strong that, for higher-order exchange modes. the spatial distribution of eigenoscillations of magnetization and elastic medium is not anti-symmetric with respect to thickness, as it occurs in a standard situation for exchange MSWs in films with free surface spins. As a result, the excitation of exchange MSWs and hybrid dipole-exchange MSWs in films with free surface spins becomes possible; when magnetoelastic interaction in these films is absent, the purely dipole MSW spectrum is observed.
