摘要

The nonlinear processes accompanying the transport of the electron beam in an extended plasma channel using a magnetic periodic focusing system (MPFS) are studied; these processes induce chaos in the transverse oscillations of the beam particles subjected to an external periodic magnetic field. The oscillatons of individual beam particles are shifted in phase, which causes an increase in the emittance and transverse temperature and changes the geometry of the electron flow. These effects are studied by an example of the initially cold beam (whose emittance equals zero) with a radially uniform distribution of the current density.
