摘要

The characteristics of domains have been observed experimentally through the current‐voltage characteristics and by using capacitive probes. Avalanching within the domain has been observed and studied. These studies have involved the use of a capacitive probe and photomultipliers to study the recombination radiation seen after avalanche has occurred. This radiation has been spatially resolved showing that avalanche does occur within the domain and not in the bulk. The characteristics of hole trapping in bulk material after avalanche have been studied. The agreement between theoretical results in the accompanying paper and experimental avalanche studies mainly on bulk material has been good.
