The decay of the heterocharge of Perspex thermoelectrets as a function of the applied field intensity was studied. This suggests that the decay of the heterocharge is not continuous but occurs in discontinuous jumps. Such a behavior suggests the formation of polarized aggregates that are superficially similar to Weiss domains, which appear to be dependent on the field strengths and temperatures employed in electret formation. The time required for the transition of the initial heterocharge to homocharge also depends on the field intensities and temperatures employed during formation. As the field strength increases the transition time decreases; as the formation temperature increases this time decreases.
