Transfer of energy to light ions from the ion‐acoustic‐wave instability developed in a heavy‐ion plasma

The energy transfer to light ions interacting with the ion‐acoustic‐wave instability developed in a heavy component plasma is studied. It is shown that the temperature of the light‐ion component increases strongly with the rate of energy transfer per particle.
