Concentration dependence of the gain spectrum in methanol solutions of rhodamine 6G

Concentration dependence of the gain spectra in methanol solutions of rhodamine 6G was measured by the amplified spontaneous‐emission method. Peak gain and peak wavelength depended nonlinearly on the dye concentration. The nonlinear dependences were attributed to the concentration dependence of the fluorescence lifetime which is caused by radiation trapping and concentration quenching.
