Repeatability coefficients of variation for the determination of six elements by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) in finished beer ranged from 1.3 to 5.6% for calcium, 2.7 to 10.4% for copper, 9.6 to 13.2% for iron, 1.8 to 2.9% for potassium, 1.3 to 1.8% for magnesium, and 3.0 to 11.4% for sodium and were judged acceptable. Repeatability coefficients of variation for the determination of zinc by ICP-AES in finished beer ranged from 11.3 to 41.2% and were judged unacceptable. Repeatability coefficients of variation for the determination of magnesium and zinc in wort by ICP-AES ranged from 5.6 to 14.8%c and 13.9 to 14.0%, respectively, and were judged acceptable. Reproducibility coefficients of variation for the determination of six elements by ICP-AES in finished beer ranged from 11.8 to 12.7% for calcium, 14.2 to 28.6% for copper, 15.9 to 24.1% for iron, 12.7 to 13.4% for potassium, 8.6 to 14.2% for magnesium, and 9.3 to 12.6% for sodium and were judged acceptable. Reproducibility coefficients of variation for the determination of zinc by ICP-AES in finished beer ranged from 67.9 to 104.9% and were judged unacceptable. Reproducibility coefficients of variation for magnesium and zinc in wort by ICP-AES ranged from 10.7 to 23.7% and 17.6 to 23.1%, respectively, and were judged acceptable.
