Models for Optimizing Transportation Networks and Modal Split in China

摘要

This paper summarizes the research in a project entitled "The Models for Optimizing Transportation Network and Modal Split in China". The research background, procedure, various mathematical models used in traffic demands forecasting, modal split and network design are presented with the key results. The systematic optimization approach adopted in this paper for integrated planning of transport network and the rational modal split formulation is firstly proposed in china. Finally, further discussion on the difficulties of using transport modeling techniques in Chinese conditions is given.
