Screen Savers as an Adjunct to Medical Education on Patient Safety

In medical centers across the United States, administrators, medical educators, and quality improvement and patient safety professionals have educated hospital staff about The Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals. First introduced in 2003, the goals have been designed to help hospitals and other health care organizations address specific areas of concern in regard to patient safety.1 Close adherence to these goals, essential for health care organizations seeking accreditation, should help prevent harm to patients. Many of the goals require significant staff education to ensure full compliance.
