The first of eight 83 m Viana do Cas-telo-class offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) on order for the Portuguese Navy has made its long-overdue arrival in Lisbon naval base. NRP Viana do Castelo (P 360) was delivered by shipbuilder Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo (ENVC) in December 2010 - more than five years after it was launched - and was commissioned on 30 March 2011. It left the shipyard on 26 April, sailing into Lisbon three days later.
