Taiwan approved for Harpoon coastal defence missile sale

Taiwan has been confirmed as the intended customer for US-supplied Harpoon Coast Defense Systems (HCDSs) integrating Boeing RGM-84L Harpoon Block II missiles with mobile launcher/ transporter units. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the possible sale on 26 October, the State Department having approved the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) request by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO).
