摘要

A slew of new ethics standards governing the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for the US Department of Defense (DoD) could set a template for other US national security agencies, all of which are in the midst of drafting ethical guidelines for the development and employment of AI-centric technologies. "I think we have actually helped create a blueprint that other agencies will be able to use, as they roll out their appropriate adoption of AI ethics," DoD chief information officer Dana Deasy said at the Pentagon on 24 February. Officials from the intelligence community and the White House are working their own versions of ethical guidelines and principles for the AI technologies. Members of the Pentagon's Joint AI Center (JAIC) are part of a White House-led interagency committee working to issue a government-wide set of AI ethics principles within the next few months.
