Keeping balance: Southeast Asian air forces face varying challenges

The member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have air forces that run the gamut from advanced air arms to those lacking in even the most basic areas. Formed in 1967, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) now comprises 10 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
