Transportation engineers do not live in a world of their own, nor are the problems they seek to solve the only problems that urban society has to face. In this sense, the solutions that they may propose have to be assessed against solutions proposed by other disciplines working in other areas of interest. Such cross-discipline studies need cross-discipline tools and cross-discipline experts. GIS-CAD will provide the tools; who will provide the experts?
