Power Factor Correction Controller Design of Inductive Loads Using Magnetic Energy Recovery Switch

摘要

The following paper investigates the applications of magnetic energy recovery switch (MERS) on inductive loads. Power circuit and operation principles ofMERS will be illustrated in detail. The relationship between the trigger angle in phase shift control and the MERS ratio capacitance to load inductance will be provided. Power factor correction (PFC) based proportional and integral (PI) controller for MERS have been designed. Numerical simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller could offer better performance and lower current total harmonic distortiort (THD) than the phase shift control method.
