Different scheduling techniques are used in planning repetitive housing projects [Bar Charts, Network Based Methods (CPM), Line of Balance techniques (LOB) and Linear Scheduling methods (LSM)]. Majority of these planning and scheduling techniques are based on the logic of construction execution processes. These processes are not sufficient to obtain the optimum plan for the repetitive housing projects. In the current planning processes, the number of houses that can be constructed per cycle of repetition is determined either by the contract project duration or the available resources in general. This paper presents a new scheduling method for repetitive housing, based on linear scheduling. The formwork is considered as the key resource that controls the scheduling process. Analysis of the construction operation for any unit in the repetitive housing project reveals that concrete works represents the major construction operation either from the time or cost point of view.
