摘要

Lately, in order to tackle the surge in information and communication traffic, various researches and developments have been conducted to expand the communication channel copacity and ensure its effective distribution in communication network. Weproposed the A WG-STAR netuork with loopback function to meet such capacity requirements for relatively small-scale network:The proposed netuork can relocate wavelengthpaths in response to traffic demand by remotely controlling inexpensive optical switchesto avoid trafic congestion and inefficient consumption of commumication capacity thatlead to degradation of communication serice quality. Hoowever, network managemenand maintenance of the AWG-STAR network would be substantive due to its complexwavelength path topology and the accumulated optical loss of wavelength path changesdue to wavelength path relocation.
