摘要

In this last issue of 2008 and at the start of another busy academic year, we are delighted to welcome a new member of our editorial team. Professor Aimin Song, who specialises in nanoelectronics in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester, takes on the role of consultant editor for the journal alongside Professor Jovica Milanovic, who will continue to advise on power systems and related topics. Professor Song has been at Manchester since 2002. We should like also to thank our retiring consultant editor of the past 10 years, Professor Peter Hicks, for all his hard work on behalf of IJEEE. Professor Hicks has not only brought expertise and valuable contacts from his own field of microelectronics, but also shared his extensive knowledge of the latest developments in e-learning technologies and curriculum development, in evidence most recently through his contribution to our special issue on Problem Based Learning. His input has undoubtedly helped to shape the journal as we enter an era of global and remotely accessible education.
