摘要

Welcome to this Special Issue of the International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education on Problem Based Learning. The aim of this issue was originally to introduce a range of case studies to highlight to practitioners in the field the uses to which the concept of problem-based learning is being put. However, as the response to this call has demonstrated, although the term Problem Based Learning may have a strict definition, engineering educators have (quite rightly) adapted and blended the purist concept to form a variety of approaches appropriate to their own learning context. Despite the subtle differences, all share a common set of goals and values; the desire to actively engage students in the collaborative construction of knowledge.
