HAPPINESS AS PRODUCTIVITY THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPT OF HAPPINESS IN POLITICAL ECONOMY FROM THE MID-18TH TO THE LATE 20TH CENTURY, OR: FROM 'PUBLIC HAPPINESS' TO 'HUMAN RIGHTS'

摘要

The theory of a "first approximation" to happiness in political economy views felicitation as productivity, because productivity is a criterion discriminating between the categoricity and non-categoricity of forces and factors in the logic of production and employment. An exemplary instance is that among the tasks of the state considered as a productive factor there is the felicitation of "human rights ". This confirms that political economy, founded on the respect of the principle of man for man (Agnati, 1982, p. 259), must "also" be understood as a science pertaining to human rights. And the recognition and guarantee of these rights requires the principle of responsible compossibility we introduced into economic science (Agnati, 2002).
