Report from NAB 2011: Future DTV spectrum battles and new 3D, mobile and IDTV technology

When Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Julius Genachowski arrived at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday of the conference to speak to attendees at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) annual Chairman's Breakfast, he was unsure of the type of welcome he would receive. Television broadcasters in the United States are concerned about the Obama Administration's proposed National Wireless Initiative that calls for the recapture and auction of 120 MHz of television spectrum to expand high-speed wireless broadband services (with the goal of reaching 98 per cent of the US public).
