US banks see last shot at a Volcker rewrite

US banks have one last shot at relaxing the ban on proprietary trading in the near term when the FEDERAL RESERVE again takes up a rewrite of the controversial Volcker rule. Randal Quarles, the Fed's vice chair for supervision, last week said the central bank would finalise a proposal easing rules for smaller banks.
