The World Bank said Oct. 16 it allocated a record 44 percent of its annual energy lending to renewable energy projects in fiscal year 2012, with the bulk of that funding going to hydropower. The bank's $3.6 billion investment represents an 8 percentage point jump from fiscal year 2011 's share of energy lending devoted to renewable energy projects.
