PROPOSED REFORM TO AUSTRALIAN FOREIGN BRIBERY LEGISLATION

The Australian Federal Government has called for public comment on a number of proposed reforms to Australia's foreign and domestic bribery laws.1 These reforms, if implemented, will result in more stringent anti-bribery regulation in Australia that is more consistent with anti-bribery regimes in foreign jurisdictions. Central to these reforms is the proposed removal of the 'facilitation payment' defence.
