Sulphur-Based FR Nanocoating

Researchers in the usa have developed an eco-friendly FR nanocoating that they say could be used to treat polyurethane foam in the furniture industry. Dr Jaime Grunlan, Gulf Oil/Thomas A. Dietz Career Development Professor at Texas A&M University, and his team have developed a coating that consists of a sulphur-based polymer and chitosan, a carbohydrate polymer found in crustacean shells.
