High tech great expectations

I was lucky to grow up in a family that was very connected to each other. We all lived in the same small town in America. We were involved in each others' lives, and we were held together by my grandmother. She was a woman that held her children and grandchildren close, and when we would leave, she would be sure to know where we were going, and what we were doing. In 1971 I left my small town to attend college in New York state. When I told my grandmother about my plans, they did not bring her joy. Instead, they brought her concern.
