Deutsche Telekom just announced that they are abandoning their four-pillar strategy and will concentrate on three segments instead: Broadband/Fixed-line (T-COM and T-Online), Corporate Customers (T-Systems) and Mobile Communications (T-Mobile). At the same time, T-Mobile is not expected to go public. France Telecom is just about to completely take over its profitable subsidiary Orange in order to reduce its huge amounts of debt. In Great Britain, some of the biggest telecom providers just formed a fixed-mobile alliance with members from all over the world, such as Swisscom, Korea Telecom, Brazil Telecom and NTT with BT is heading this alliance.
