Personal data: the user's perspective

摘要

The importance of data to the global digital economy is well-understood but the rapid technological advances in the way in which data can be commoditized are such that regulators must find a sustainable and flexible approach to regulating the emerging market. Much current regulation relies on a definition of data as "personal", activating an 'on/off switch' for conditions to be applied to those data.
