We have long said that access to the internet and the resulting e-commerce are seen as key drivers of economic activity around the world. Today we can say that this is clearly the case. The internet outpaces nearly every other sector of the world economy in terms of its contribution to real economic growth and job creation. If we look at the 'app economy' alone, it has created more than 466,000 jobs since 2007 and generated nearly $20 billion in revenue solely in 2011. This exponential growth in terms of jobs and GDP contributions is expected to continue.
