As much technical expertise goes into furnishing textiles each season as fashion action. Reported here are some of the latest developments which are adding value to style. Three new easy-care finishes have been developed through the joint initiatives of DuPont™, Invista - the licensed marketer of DuPont™ Teflon~® fabric protector - and CIBA. The finishes, which have all been developed to increase dirt repellency and comfort, are: Cool&Dry Teflon~® fabric protector, which combines durable stain protection with moisture management; High Performance Teflon~® fabric protector, employing a long lasting technology claimed to lead the industry in wash durability; and advanced dual action DuPont™ Teflon~® fabric, a dual action repel and release system claimed to be the ultimate stain protection solution. All three technologies are being applied to home textiles, specifically furnishing fabrics and bed and table linens woven in 100 percent synthetic fibres. Blended fabrics are promised for later. These advances will be heavily promoted through trade and consumer advertising based on the theme ''outsmart stains''. A typical image included in the campaign is shown above.
