A Framework for Evaluating Social Acceptability of Spatial Computing Devices

Through consideration of the social conditions that shape acceptable use-along with a review of the relevant technical details that underpin device functionality-the metric proposed in this article seeks to address the critical factors that constitute spatial computing wearables as sociotechnical systems for both device wearers and bystanders, and reveal opportunities for promoting social behavior while also respecting social norms.
