Professor Andy Smith (1955-2011)

This issue of Interacting with Computers is dedicated to the memory of a colleague, fellow interaction group committee member and friend, Andy Smith. Andy died unexpectedly young last year, suddenly, and to the great shock and distress of many. His loss as an international researcher, as a work colleague, and as a life partner has been felt by those who have contributed to the following tribute to his life and work. I, too, will miss him and feel very sad that his death followed rather too closely that of his colleague, Lynne Pemberton.
