I wondered how I could best celebrate starting volume 29 of the INTELLIGENCE newsletter. Over the decades, I've covered a multitude of technologies, mostly focused on the notions of human consciousness, intelligence and the translation of human capabilities and more by technologies. Back in 1984, the best way to do that was to report on the then nascent field of what would later be known as neural networks. Later in the 80s, nanotechnology was added to the list, followed by only a few years for my reporting on the then nascent Internet.
