World breakthrough for Magnox Electric

Scientists from Magnox Electric have made a world breakthrough in laser technology by developing a new remote non-destructive inspection technique which allows the remote inspection of material in a hazardous environment without the need for difficult sample removal. Based on research carried out at Swansea University, the system was initially developed by Magnox Electric for remote metal sampling in nuclear reactors, but it already has the potential for commercial use, beyond the electricity generating industry -both at home and abroad.
