Smallpeice achieve the first deliverables of the new London Engineering Project

Fifteen pupils aged 13-14 from schools participating in the London Engineering Project (LEP) recently attended the Engineering. Technology and Enterprise Experience course which took place from 10th to 13th April at Harper Adams University College. Newport. Shropshire. The 4-day residential course, run by the Smallpeice Trust, provided one hundred pupils from schools across the UK with the opportunity to learn about engineering through a series of presentations and practical exercises. Working in teams, they spent two days of the course tackling 'real-life' challenges on projects designed and facilitated by young engineers from industry. As well as working on the design, build and test elements of the projects, they developed life skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, time management, finance and presentation. The social programme included a reception and formal course dinner at the Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford.
