Ageing Infrastructures Workshop to be held in New York

Since science and technology plays a critical role in response to the threat of terrorism, The US Department for Homeland Security, Directorate for Science and Technology (DHS S&T) established a goal to accelerate the delivery of enhanced technological capabilities and fill the gaps of DHS agencies. The Infrastructure and Geophysical Division supports this goal by proposing the preparation of a research agenda based on enhancing performance of ageing infrastructures response to abnormal man-made and natural hazards. A workshop, to be held 21-23 July 2009 at Columbia University in New York City, will address mainly transportation and energy-related infrastructures.
