摘要

The condition of joints in explosively -clad plates was tested in this work. The basic purpose of this research was to select the appropriate ultrasonic technology for explosively welded wavy joints. The acceptance criterion was a theoretical wave reflectance on the boundary of two media, which is characteristic of the durable joints of welded materials. In addition, the actual joint reflectance was determined. Both these values were compared and, on their basis, an appropriate ultrasonic technology for testing welded joints was selected. The structure and mechanical properties of the joint area were tested and these data completed the analysis of the ultrasonic test results. The final test results indicated that a focused beam of ultrasonic waves should be used for the evaluation of the condition of joints. The phased array ultrasonic technology was classified as the most useful method.
