In 2014, the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) saw more members successfully register with the Engineering Council at Engineering Technician (EngTech) level than ever before. Registration at all levels (EngTech, IEng and CEng) saw a significant increase on the 2013 figure and BINDT expects the number to continue rising, through natural growth as well as a direct result of strategic marketing plans. This outlines the fact that applications are not only accepted and encouraged through BINDT, but the application process simplified with entry routes tailored for NDT professionals. At the end of 2009, 173 BINDT members were registered as EngTechs, a figure that had increased to 323 by the end of 2014, representing a rise of more than 85% over four years.
