Christina Zanotelli

It is with the greatest sadness that we deliver to you the news that our beloved colleague and friend Christina Zanotelli (until recently Müller) passed away this February after a struggle with an illness. Christina studied physics at the Technical University in Dresden, Germany, and received her PhD in the field of theoretical solid state physics in 1982. After a period of teaching and research at the university, she moved into research and development of materials testing procedures in the electronics industry. Since 1985, she has worked in the field of NDT, starting with the development of ultrasonic probes for nuclear power plants in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). In 1988, she started to work at the BAM Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in the NDT division, with a focus on signal processing, modelling and 3D data reconstruction.
