Gudger: DOD pursuing policies that could address broader industry trends

As the Pentagon pursues new tools to manage potential defense industry consolidation, the acting head of the manufacturing and industrial base policy office said the Defense Department is particularly interested in ways to influence acquisitions that are part of larger trends. Speaking at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event in Washington, Andre Gudger said he's not only tracking the size of deals but also how many are being made. "We need to look at things by trends across the industrial base," he said. "Right now, we have very little visibility into a series of transactions."
