The island would be located 13.5 miles off New York's coast and 19 miles off New Jersey's coast. Regasified LNG would be transported to New York via an underwater pipeline.rnUnder the Deepwater Port Act, the government may not issue a license to an LNG project unless the governors of adjacent coastal states approve.
