FERC would get lead cybersecurity role under House committee’s draft legislation

The commission would lead the federal government’snresponse to any vulnerabilities in the electricity grid under proposednFederal Power Act changes floated by the House Energynand Commerce Committee last week.nThe draft measure, dubbed the Grid Reliability andnInfrastructure Defense Act, would expand the FPA and is thenscheduled topic of a May 31 committee hearing.
