In rate case, CPUC orders PG&E to file twiceyearly safety reports after San Bruno blast

California regulators last week ordered Pacific Gas andnElectric to file safety reports twice a year as part of a rate casenregarding the utility’s gas transmission and storage facilities.nThe California Public Utilities Commission adopted PG&E’snGas Accord V settlement resolving revenue requirements, costnallocation and rates for the facilities from 2011 through 2014.nMonthly bills for all customers will rise less than 1% as a result.nThe CPUC added a safety phase to the proceeding followingnthe fatal explosion of a PG&E transmission line in SannBruno, California, in September (IF 20 Sept, 5). The semiannualnsafety reports must provide details on pipeline-relatednand storage safety, reliability and integrity, as well as capitalnprojects and maintenance — and track the amount of moneynspent on such initiatives
