FERC staff supports settlement between SFPP, Chevron in decades-old tariff dispute

FERC trial staff urged an administrative law judge lastnweek to approve an agreement between SFPP Pipeline andnChevron to end a 20-year-old dispute over oil pipeline tariffs.n“In our view, the settlement represents a fair and reasonablendisposition of a long and contentious litigationnbetween these parties, the approval of which would plainlynbe in the public interest,” FERC lawyer Joel Cockrell wrotenin a February 8 motion. “Trial staff urges the commission tonapprove the settlement agreement at its earliest conveniencenso that SFPP and Chevron can successfully end their protractednlitigation process.”
