The PJM Power Providers Group last week asked FERC to nadopt rules that it said would protect consumers from subsi-ndizing unneeded power plants.nThe complaint was in response to a New Jersey law that nwill subsidize 2,000 MW of new generation. The power pro-nviders are “seeking critical revisions to the fatally flawed nbuyer-market-power mitigation provision” in the PJM nInterconnection’s open-access transmission tariff, said the nFebruary 1 filing (EL11-20). FERC “repeatedly has affirmed nthe need to fully mitigate buyer market power, just as it nrepeatedly has fully mitigated seller market power.”
