LNG makes maiden voyage from Sabine Pass, kicking off US entry into global LNG market

An energy milestone was reached last week as the first large-scale, modern tanker LNG export from the Lower-48 states departed from a port on the Texas/Louisiana border. Bound for Brazil, and loaded with the LNG equivalent of 3.44 Bcf of gas, the vessel Asia Vision left Cheniere Energy Partners' Sabine Pass LNG facility just after 8 pm local time on February 24.
