With standing in question, Sierra Club seeks to drop litigation against NEXUS

Environmental groups are seeking to withdraw their litigation challenging federal approval of the NEXUS Gas Transmission project because a landowner who would have provided legal standing for the court challenge sold his property to the pipeline developer. The 1.5 Bcf/d project will consist of 256.6 miles of 36-inch-diameter greenfield pipeline and four new compressor stations through the Midwest. NEXUS began construction in mid-October and has targeted a late third-quarter 2018 in-service date. The project was among several interstate natural gas pipeline projects recently facing emergency stay attempts in federal appeals court.
