DOE names consultants working on contentious electric grid reliability study

The author of a 2015 report critical of clean energy policies will lead a Department of Energy electric grid reliability study, but another consultant who serves on the board of an energy-efficiency advocacy group will write the final report. The leader of the DOE study is Travis Fisher, who in February 2015 wrote a report for the Institute for Energy Research that identified "bad policies" that supported shifting from coal to cleaner forms of generation as "the single greatest emerging threat to reliable electricity" in the US.
