TotalEnergies deal supporting Tellurian’s Driftwood LNG falls through

Tellurian terminated a deal it reached two years ago for TotalEnergiesto take an equity stake in the developer’s proposed Driftwood LNGterminal in Louisiana and purchase LNG supplies from the facility,according to a July 12 federal regulatory filing.The 2019 deal covered 1 million mt/year of LNG under the equitypartnership and another 1.5 million mt/year of marketing volumes fora term of at least 15 years. The collapse of the agreement left theproject with just two commercial deals that have been announced todate, which alone would not be enough to support building the firstphase of Driftwood.
